Recycled plastic materials are collected and delivered to a central collection area whereby different types of plastics must be sorted. This is done in a series of stages. This separation is usually done by hand to differentiate between different types of plastic and subsequently divert each material into the proper collection of jumbo bags.
The crushed recycled plastics are fed into an extruder where heat and pressure melt the plastics. (Each type of plastic has a different melting temperature)
The melted plastic is forced through a fine screen. (This removes any contaminants that may have eluded during the SORTING process)
Pellets are made by melting down the plastic through water and then layer it into thin strands that are chopped into small, uniform pieces. The strands are cooled and chopped into pellets.
The processed resin are packed into standard 25kg bags and stored for shipment.
